Avalanche’s Journey: A Story of Resilience, Love, and Tail Wags
Avalanche is no stranger to Freddie’s Place. Since 2023, he’s been a familiar and cherished face at our hospital. Over time, he has undergone multiple surgeries and visited regularly for laser therapy and various treatments for IVDD. Whenever Avalanche and his devoted family walk through our doors, we know it’s going to be a good day.
Recently, Avalanche’s medical journey took a more challenging turn. An abdominal ultrasound revealed both kidney disease and adrenal tumors—an especially tough diagnosis due to his age and long-standing medical history. Still, his incredible owners met the news with compassion, resilience, and a deep commitment to his well-being. Together with Dr. Redden, they crafted a treatment plan tailored to Avalanche’s specific needs, always keeping his quality of life as the top priority.
Since then, Avalanche has been receiving ongoing supportive care and regular diagnostic follow-ups right here at Freddie’s. His family hasn’t missed a beat—bringing him in several times a week for fluids and treatments, never hesitating to do what’s needed to keep him comfortable and thriving.
And here’s the remarkable part: Avalanche has found new energy and joy in his days. His owners have graciously shared videos and photos showing him enjoying activities he hadn’t done in years—longer walks, playful moments, and joyful howling during car rides. It’s as if a spark has been reignited.
We couldn’t be more proud of Avalanche and the unwavering love and dedication of his family. Their journey together is a true inspiration—a reminder of how powerful compassion, commitment, and the human-animal bond can be.
We’re honored to be part of Avalanche’s story, and we’re excited to keep the ball rolling—one tail wag at a time.
