Sully was brought into us by his mom. He has been by her side for many years now, so mom became worried when he began to lose weight. Sully also became uninterested in eating with some serious lethargy. Upon examination, we were able to diagnose him with feline diabetes. Over the next upcoming weeks after his diagnosis, we ran blood glucose curve tests, which allowed us to find his proper dose for his insulin administrations. We were also able to teach mom how to properly administer these at home! Diabetes is common in both cats and dogs as they age, so doing routine blood glucose tests with us is not a bad idea. We are grateful to have been able to help Sully and give his mom a proper diagnosis for him.
